About the Role
As a CNC Machine Operator, you will be instrumental in maintaining a high-performance manufacturing environment. Your expertise will minimize equipment downtime, uphold consistent product quality, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and operational stability. Your proficiency in CNC programming and equipment troubleshooting will be essential to success in this role.
Responsibilities- Use ERP software to accurately log time and job-related data, contributing to precise project tracking and resource allocation.
- Interpret technical documents, including work orders, flow sheets, and part drawings, to fully understand the specifications and requirements of each job.
- Ensure accuracy by inspecting blueprint dimensions using manual gauges, maintaining adherence to design specifications.
- Prepare machines for operation by loading and verifying tools and fixtures, and when necessary, fabricating basic fixtures to meet specific job needs.
- Set up and operate 3-axis mills and perform basic 2-axis lathe work, ensuring efficient and precise machining operations.
- Manage CNC programs by uploading and downloading them between the programmer and the machine, facilitating seamless program execution.
- Conduct in-process inspections on production parts, ensuring that all components meet quality standards throughout the manufacturing process.
- Maintain a safe and efficient workspace by adhering to 5S principles, promoting a clean, organized, and productive environment.
Required Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Solid understanding of ERP software for data logging and job tracking.
- Demonstrated expertise in CNC machining, with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints to accurately understand job specifications.
- Skilled in using manual inspection gauges to verify dimensional accuracy.
Preferred Skills
- Experience in editing and writing CNC programs to optimize machining processes.
- Strong math skills, including knowledge of trigonometry, to support precise calculations and measurements.
- Familiarity with GD&T principles for interpreting and applying geometric tolerances.
- Experience with CAM Software (Mastercam).
