About the Role
As a Metal Joining Specialist, you will play a vital role in the production of high-stakes aerospace components by mastering advanced thermal bonding techniques. You will utilize your steady hand and technical focus to ensure that every assembly meets rigorous structural and safety requirements through precise torch and induction methods.
Responsibilities- Execute high-precision torch and induction brazing to bond complex aerospace filter assemblies and dissimilar metals.
- Interpret complex technical blueprints and braze schedules to ensure consistent, high-quality output.
- Manipulate delicate materials, including fine wire mesh and specialized fittings, with exceptional manual dexterity.
- Conduct thorough in-process quality audits to verify that all components adhere to strict industry standards.
- Manage equipment settings for Lepel induction systems to optimize thermal application.
- Complete a comprehensive, multi-phase certification program to achieve expert-level proficiency in brazing techniques.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace in compliance with all environmental and safety protocols.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Demonstrated ability to perform basic mathematical calculations involving fractions and decimals.
- Ability to pass mandatory vision and color perception screenings to ensure quality control.
- Capacity to perform sedentary tasks for extended durations while maintaining focus.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and utilize necessary personal protective equipment.
Preferred Skills
- 1 years of experience in precision metal joining, welding, or intricate assembly work.
- Technical certification in welding or brazing processes.
- Familiarity with flame control, silver braze reflow, and induction heating systems.
- Prior exposure to aerospace quality management systems such as AS9100 or NADCAP.
