Leadership and Oversight
- Oversee the daily operations of the Maintenance, Process Engineering, and Project Engineering teams, as well as external contractors, by setting clear priorities, tracking progress, and evaluating performance to maximize resource efficiency.
- Foster an empowered workplace culture that ensures all engineering and maintenance personnel are aligned with business objectives and have the necessary support to succeed.
- Promote a transparent and collaborative communication environment while managing the annual Capital Asset Acquisition Proposal (CAAP) budget.
- Help ensure project success by overseeing thorough planning, data validation, and the acquisition of required approvals.
- Maintain strict oversight of project timelines and budgets to ensure all initiatives are executed as planned.
- Drive continuous improvement by initiating design modifications that enhance machine performance, support packaging updates, and increase equipment versatility for new product lines.
- Formulate long-term capital strategies that prioritize high-return investments, including equipment upgrades, capacity expansions, and modifications to support cost-reduction initiatives.
- Direct the design and layout of processing and packaging machinery to maximize floor space and ensure optimal production output.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation for all engineering and maintenance workflows, including SOPs, DOPs, and startup protocols, while managing necessary process updates.
- Improve operational reliability by developing robust preventive maintenance schedules and managing an efficient inventory control system for maintenance supplies.
- Ensure the facility remains in full compliance with all environmental regulations regarding waste management, air quality, and building codes.
- Manage the accurate and timely submission of all required documentation to federal, state, and local regulatory bodies.
- Help maintain a secure and safe facility environment by ensuring fire suppression systems, alarms, and evacuation protocols meet all safety and insurance standards.
- Oversee adherence to all facility-related permits and codes while serving as the primary point of contact for government agency filings.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop both operational and capital expenditure budgets.
- Oversee departmental expenses by utilizing accurate accounting data and financial support.
- Contribute to the broader organizational business planning and budgeting cycles.
- Develop and execute strategies aimed at long-term cost containment and operational savings.
- Manage the comprehensive operating budget for the Engineering, Facilities, and Maintenance departments.
This position involves frequent interaction with vendors, suppliers, and key stakeholders. You will build strong partnerships with HQ Engineering, Marketing, and Packaging Development teams while mentoring staff to advance their technical expertise. Success in this role requires exceptional diplomacy and communication skills to influence cross-functional teams and represent the facility to external partners. You must be capable of translating complex strategies into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences and effectively influencing leadership.
Professional Qualifications- Bachelor's degree is required.
- Possess at least 7 years of experience in manufacturing, chemical, or pharmaceutical sectors, including a history of increasing leadership responsibility.
- Demonstrate technical proficiency with shop floor systems, including PCs, PLCs, and robotics.
- Utilize process engineering and analytical mapping skills to optimize workflows.
- Apply deep knowledge of CMMS platforms and preventive maintenance best practices to improve equipment uptime.
- Experience in food processing environments is considered a valuable asset.
- Expertise in food and beverage manufacturing operations.
- Proficiency with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
