About the Role
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced EHS professional to champion environmental, health, safety, and sustainability initiatives across our eastern region facilities. This role is pivotal in driving continuous improvement, ensuring regulatory compliance, and fostering a culture of safety and environmental stewardship. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of EHS regulations.
Responsibilities- Conduct regular site visits to evaluate EHS performance, identify areas for improvement, and provide expert guidance to plant personnel.
- Spearhead the development, implementation, and maintenance of comprehensive EHS programs and procedures, ensuring alignment with corporate standards and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze EHS data to identify trends, prioritize improvement opportunities, and track progress against key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Provide technical support and training to plant personnel on EHS topics, including risk assessment, incident investigation, and regulatory compliance.
- Lead and support incident investigations to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Manage environmental compliance activities, including permit applications, reporting, and waste management.
- Champion sustainability initiatives, including data management, strategic planning, and implementation of energy efficiency and waste reduction projects.
- Maintain effective relationships with regulatory agencies and represent the company in EHS-related matters.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Environmental Science, Occupational Safety, Engineering).
- 5 years of experience in managing EHS programs in a manufacturing environment.
- In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations (e.g., OSHA, EPA).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify trends.
- Excellent communication, training, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with all levels of the organization.
Preferred Skills
- Professional certification in Safety (CSP), Industrial Hygiene (CIH), or Hazardous Materials Management (CHMM).
- Experience with ISO 14001 or ISO 45001 management systems.
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing principles and practices.
- Experience with sustainability data management and reporting.
