TIG WelderThe Welder is responsible for welding stainless steel components to create watertight tanks and other sub-assemblies using TIG or Laser Welding Robot technology, depending on the product. The role also involves fabricating welded sub-assemblies such as brazed tubes and welding hardware to panels.Requirements of the TIG WelderFluent in EnglishTIG welding certificationAbility to read and interpret engineering blueprintsSkilled in TIG welding thin stainless steel sheet metal (12–22 gauge)Comfortable using fabrication tools such as cutoff wheels, grinders, and sandersMust pass a hands-on welding test or provide sample weldsResponsibilities of the TIG WelderPerform TIG welding on stainless steel sheet metal and hardware using autogenous, homogenous, and heterogenous techniquesOperate and maintain the Laser Welding Robot and welding boothInspect welded components to ensure they meet quality and engineering standardsClean, repair, or touch up nonconforming weldsCollaborate with engineering to improve assembly drawings, processes, and fixturingFollow safety procedures and maintain a clean work areaSupport other welding department activities as needed1st shift, DIRECT HIREPay is $25.00 - $28.00 an hour, based on experience*If you have an open application with Matthews Professional Employment, Inc., please express your interest in this position to your consultant*
