CNC Tool & Die Machinist
Location: Worcester Massachusetts
Pay: $30.00 - $35.00
Shift: First shift 6AM - 2:30PM
Type: Direct Hire
Our client manufactures, and assembles custom stampings and machined components for a variety of industrial applications. We are looking for an experienced CNC Tool & Die Machinist who can build, modify, repair, and maintain the tooling used to support daily manufacturing operations.
This is a hands-on role for someone with strong CNC and manual machining experience who is comfortable working from blueprints, engineering drawings, and existing tooling.
Responsibilities
- Set up and operate CNC and manual machine tools
- Build, modify, and repair jigs, fixtures, tools, dies, and production tooling
- Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, CAD/CAM files, and engineering drawings
- Plan machining and fabrication steps from start to finish
- Measure and verify dimensions, shapes, clearances, and tolerances
- Grind, file, fit, polish, and adjust components as needed
- Assemble tooling and confirm proper fit and operation
- Test completed tools, dies, and fixtures to ensure they meet production requirements
- Inspect completed work for defects and dimensional accuracy
- Troubleshoot tooling and machining issues
- Work independently while supporting production and engineering teams
- Follow ISO procedures, OSHA regulations, and company safety requirements
Required Skills
- Minimum 5 years of Tool & Die or Jig and Fixture experience
- CNC machine setup and operation experience
- Manual machining experience
- Experience fabricating, repairing, and modifying production tooling
- Ability to read blueprints and engineering drawings
- Experience using calipers, micrometers, indicators, gauges, and other measuring tools
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to produce finished components from drawings or existing samples
- Ability to work with little direct supervision
- Strong organization and communication skills
- Understanding of ISO quality procedures
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Minimum 5 years of manufacturing or machining experience
- Previous experience supporting stamping, machining, or production operations preferred
