Civil Litigation Associate Attorney

Masis Professional Group is recruiting a Civil Litigation Associate Attorney for an established litigation firm in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The position focuses on civil litigation and insurance defense, including professional liability, legal malpractice, and general liability and premises liability matters.
The firm is seeking an attorney with approximately 1–5 years of litigation experience who can take an active role in managing cases, working with clients, and handling substantive litigation responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Manage civil litigation matters from inception through resolution.
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and discovery responses.
- Prepare for and participate in depositions, hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and trials.
- Conduct legal research and develop litigation strategy with partners and other attorneys.
- Communicate with clients, experts, opposing counsel, and other parties.
- Prepare case status updates and written reports for clients.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor from an ABA-accredited law school.
- Admission to the Connecticut Bar or an adequate UBE score for admission to Connecticut.
- Approximately 1–5 years of civil litigation experience.
- Experience drafting motions, conducting discovery, and managing litigation deadlines.
Preferred Experience
- Insurance defense or closely related civil litigation.
- Professional liability, legal malpractice, or general liability and premises liability.
- Experience drafting and arguing dispositive motions.
- Judicial clerkship experience.
Work Arrangement and Billable Hours
- Hybrid schedule, generally 3 days onsite in Bridgeport and 2 days remote.
- Annual billable-hour requirement: 2,000 hours.
Compensation and Benefits
The anticipated base salary is $105,000–$130,000, commensurate with experience.
