Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, slicing, chopping, and measuring according to recipes and standards
- Assist in assembling dishes and completing meal components for service
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including mixers, slicers, ovens, and food processors
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment in compliance with food safety standards
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and quality at all times
- Support menu planning by preparing ingredients needed for daily specials or catering events
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and timing
Experience
- Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Experience working in food service environments such as restaurants or catering settings
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production
- Skilled in knife handling, slicing techniques, and general food preparation methods
- Familiarity with operating kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistency in meal preparation
