Responsibilities
- Stock and replenish produce displays efficiently, ensuring all items are fresh, appealing, and properly labeled
- Operate material handling equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts safely to load, unload, and move produce inventory
- Conduct regular inventory control checks using RF scanners to track stock levels and reduce waste
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the produce section, including packaging and merchandising tasks
- Assist customers with product questions, provide recommendations, and ensure a positive shopping experience
- Manage shipping and receiving processes for incoming produce deliveries, verifying quantities and quality standards
- Support inventory management efforts by rotating stock, conducting manual handling tasks, and documenting discrepancies
Skills
- Proficiency with RF scanners, pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse operation equipment
- Strong knowledge of produce handling, merchandising, and retail store product presentation
- Experience with inventory control systems and inventory management practices
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely while following proper lifting practices
- Basic math skills for counting stock, processing transactions, and managing retail math calculations
- Organizational skills to maintain a clean, safe workspace while managing multiple tasks efficiently
- Previous retail store or grocery experience is preferred; familiarity with retail sales and customer service standards enhances performance
