Farmers Market Vendor

Job Summary
Join our vibrant farmers market team as a Farmers Market Vendor for Chesterton, Indiana (Saturdays) and Frankfort, Illinois (Sundays). In this dynamic role, you will showcase and sell fresh, locally produced pies, tea breads, cobblers and kolaches while engaging with customers and promoting healthy, sustainable living. Your enthusiasm and dedication will help create a lively marketplace atmosphere, foster community connections, and elevate our brand presence. Must be able to work all weekends April 26 - Sept 5. Additional bonus available for attending all markets. Valid drivers license and safe.driving record required.

Duties

• Load bakery van with product, drive to Chesterton, IN (Saturdays) and Frankfort, Illinois (Sundays) and set up displays.
• MUST BE ABLE TO LIFT 50 #
• Set up attractive and organized vendor stalls to display fresh bakery goods
• Engage with customers through friendly, informative interactions to enhance their shopping experience.
• Conduct product demonstrations and sampling to showcase the quality and uniqueness of your offerings.
• Collect customer feedback and sales data to inform inventory decisions and improve service.
• Manage social media accounts by posting updates, promotions, and engaging content to attract more visitors.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions, resolving issues promptly, and ensuring a positive marketplace environment.

Skills

• Experience in food service or retail sales with a passion for local foods and community markets.
• Strong communication skills; bilingual abilities are a plus for connecting with diverse audiences.
• Proficiency in social media management to boost visibility and engagement online.
• Ability to perform data collection related to sales trends, customer preferences, or inventory levels.
• Skilled in public speaking or branding to effectively promote products during demos or market events.
• Knowledge of event marketing strategies to increase foot traffic and market awareness.
• Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, approachable demeanor. Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
