Our client, a marine motor sports manufacturer, is seeking a Production Planner to join their team. As an Production Planner, you will be part of the Operations Team supporting Manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have strong experience as a hands-on planner with a solid manufacturing background who understands how to execute within an ERP/MRP-driven environment and is comfortable working with large bills of material and a broad supplier base . This position will not support candidates with visa issues and only candidates from the Milwaukee, WI metropolitan area will be considered This is a contract role. Job Title: Production Planner
Location: Germantown, WI
Pay: $35-$42/hr. plus OT, benefits
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize the ERP system to plan production and manage material requirements in alignment with the manufacturing schedule
- Interpret and execute MRP (Material Requirements Planning) outputs:
- Assess on-hand inventory
- Identify shortages
- Determine when and what to order
- Place purchase orders for parts and materials based on system-generated requirements
- Act as the executional buyer-planner, ordering exactly what is required per the system (no product development involvement)
- Monitor part availability and update the ERP system with accurate delivery dates when materials are constrained
- Proven experience as a Production Planner (Buyer-Planner background acceptable if heavily planning-focused)
- Strong working knowledge of ERP/MRP systems in a manufacturing environment
- Demonstrated ability to:
- Read and interpret MRP outputs
- Plan and order materials against system requirements
- Manufacturing experience is essential , preferably with:
- Finished goods
