Requirements:
The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and knowledgeable in optometry billing codes, modifiers, and claim workflows.
- Submit accurate and timely claims to insurance carriers
- Work to resolve unpaid or rejected claims through appeals and follow-ups
- Handle claim denials, resubmissions, and prior-authorizations
- Apply appropriate CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS codes and optometry-specific modifiers
- Process patient statements
- Effective patient billing and balance collection
- Post payments and adjustments
- Collaborate with front desk and clinical teams to ensure clean claim submissions
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA and payer guidelines
Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) years of experience in medical billing (optometry preferred)
- Strong knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding and EHR billing workflows
- Working knowledge of EOBs, and denial management
- Detail-oriented with strong communication and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of billing platforms, clearinghouses, and payer portals
- Certification in medical billing/coding (preferred but not required)
Salary : $50,000 - $55,000
