Reports to the regional vice president. Directly supervises the finance & administration director, programs director, career success director, OA/CTS director, health & wellness manager (RN), business & community liaison, student personnel officer and secretary III. Responsible for the overall management of the center in compliance with government and management directives.
Essential Functions
- Plan, coordinate and direct the total administrative and programmatic activities of the center.
- Coordinate with corporate, Department of Labor (DOL) and other contractor personnel to ensure efficient center functioning and contract compliance, including audits and reviews.
- Provide oversight of the MTC Student App ensuring relevant staff members are trained and inputting campus information into the app including but not limited to recreation/professional development activities, student mail, campus dining options, announcements, student & staff awards, Student Government elections, campus map, and any other available features in the app.
- Establish center plans, programs, goals and objectives to ensure achievement through management controls.
- Direct programmatic efforts to ensure obtainment of follow-on contract or expanded center business; coordinate with the corporate office on proposal preparation, negotiation and contractual modification activities.
- Recommend and execute final decisions on contract, budget, organization, program and administrative matters in accordance with the corporate decision analysis table.
- Provide staff training, evaluate staff performance and implement organizational and personnel actions in accordance with the decision analysis table.
- Maintain communication with student body via student government association and conduct scheduled or spontaneous meetings on a group or individual basis.
- Establish and maintain close contact with government, community, civic and news media officials to promote acceptance and involvement in the program.
- Provide control of center reports, policies, procedures, torts and other claims, staff travel, student terminations, disclosure of information, experimental projects, and emergency use of personnel, equipment and facilities.
- Ensure the center’s career development services system is developed, maintained, and in compliance with DOL expectations.
- Maintain a safe and clean work area that models high standards for a work environment.
- Provide positive, quality customer services to students, staff and other center customers.
- Participate in student employability programs and activities.
- Support, promote, and enforce the Job Corps’ Zero Tolerance Policy.
- Promote the development of Career Success Standards by modeling appropriate behaviors, mentoring students where necessary and monitoring both positive and negative behaviors through interventions.
- Maintain accountability of staff, students and property; adhere to safety practices.
- It is expected that the incumbent shall perform other duties as assigned within his/her capabilities as determined by management.
- Bachelor's degree and five years experience in program management and direction.
- Experience with youth, excellent written and verbal communications skills and computer proficiency required.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record, unless waived by management.
