The Project Foreman for MainStay Landscape’s Special Projects Division is responsible for managing and executing small to midsize projects ranging from $25,000 to $175,000. These projects include a variety of scopes, such as planting, hardscape installation, lighting, and irrigation work.
The Project Foreman works closely with the Special Projects Manager, receives design support, and is responsible for ensuring projects are delivered with exceptional quality, efficiency, and client satisfaction. This is a great position for the individual who likes to do it all while also seeing and appreciating quick results. The role requires strong leadership skills, technical expertise, and the ability to adapt to changing project demands.
This role is based in both Osterville, MA (Cape Cod) and Plainville, MA (Metro-West) locations. Projects may take place at either site, so the ideal candidate should be comfortable commuting between locations.
Project Leadership & Execution
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the project site, ensuring all work is completed according to plans, specifications, and MainStay quality standards.
- Manage and work alongside installation crews to maintain productivity and craftsmanship.
- Coordinate with the Special Projects Manager for scheduling, resourcing, and project updates.
- Oversee project logistics, including material deliveries, site organization, and equipment use.
- Ensure proper installation of planting, hardscape features, lighting systems, and irrigation components.
Quality Control & Safety
- Maintain high-quality workmanship across all project phases.
- Monitor work for compliance with design intent and specifications.
- Enforce company safety standards and ensure crews follow all safety protocols.
Collaboration & Communication
- Work closely with the design team to bring creative visions to life and resolve field challenges.
- Maintain regular communication with the Special Projects Manager regarding project progress, issues, and changes.
- Act as a point of contact on-site for clients, subcontractors, and vendors.
Problem Solving & Adaptability
- Address and resolve site issues in real-time to keep the project on schedule.
- Adjust plans and methods when site conditions or project requirements change.
Qualifications & Skills
- 3 years of landscape construction or project foreman experience.
- Proficiency in planting, hardscape construction, lighting installation, and irrigation systems.
- Plant knowledge is a plus.
- Hoisting License required.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate crews.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to read and interpret landscape plans and construction documents.
- Knowledge of proper construction techniques, site preparation, and grading.
- Experience operating landscape construction equipment.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
