What are the responsibilities and job description for the Adjunct Faculty - MVS Department position at Maharishi International University?
About the Role
The Part-time Faculty is member of the instructional faculty at MIU reporting to an academic Department Chair and having primary responsibility for the instruction of students and the management of a course offering. The instructional and course-management aspects of this role, for any particular course, are the same as that of a full-time faculty member, but the number of courses assigned each year does not warrant a full-time appointment. This role is responsible for ensuring that all preparation needed for the course (e.g. syllabus, reading materials, assessments, LMS site) is completed timely prior to the course, conducting lectures or webinars, evaluating students’ work and reporting attendance and grades through MIU’s faculty portal, and managing teaching assistants if a course is large. This position upholds MIU’s Consciousness-Based Education mission. Unlike full-time faculty, the Part-time Faculty primary duty is instructional with no expectation of scholarship nor administrative service to the University apart from course management.
