Med-Surg / Intensive Care Unit (ICU)
About the Role
We are hiring a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to deliver high-quality, patient-centered care in our Med-Surg and ICU settings. In this critical role, you’ll use clinical judgment, assessment skills, and collaboration to support patients through acute care and recovery. This position is ideal for a nurse passionate about acute care nursing, Med-Surg nursing, and ICU patient care in a community hospital environment.
What You’ll Do
Patient Care & Clinical Practice
- Deliver comprehensive nursing care aligned with individualized patient care plans
- Perform ongoing patient assessments and document findings in the electronic medical record
- Administer medications, IV therapy, and treatments per hospital protocols
- Monitor telemetry, interpret rhythms, and respond to critical changes
Care Planning & Evaluation
- Develop and update patient-centered care plans with measurable outcomes
- Evaluate effectiveness of interventions and adjust plans as needed
- Educate patients and families on conditions, treatments, and discharge planning
Collaboration & Communication
- Partner with physicians, hospitalists, and interdisciplinary teams
- Communicate critical labs, condition changes, and consult needs promptly
- Provide clear nurse-to-nurse bedside shift reports
Safety, Quality & Compliance
- Promote patient safety and adhere to National Patient Safety Goals
- Participate in quality improvement and performance improvement initiatives
- Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality at all times

This is a 100% onsite position at our hospital in Port Clinton, Ohio.

- Diploma, Associate Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited program
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Ohio
- Strong critical thinking, communication, and time management skills
- Basic EKG rhythm interpretation and comfort with clinical technology
Preferred
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Prior Med-Surg, ICU, or charge nurse experience
- Proficiency with electronic medical records and hospital systems
