About the Role
We’re hiring a dedicated Clinical Dietitian to provide evidence-based nutritional care across inpatient and selected outpatient settings. In this role, you’ll assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nutrition interventions using the Nutrition Care Process to support patient recovery and long-term health. This Clinical Dietitian position plays a high-impact role in interdisciplinary care, quality improvement, and patient education within a hospital environment.
What You’ll Do
Clinical Nutrition & Patient Care
- Conduct timely nutrition assessments and reassessments using the Nutrition Care Process
- Develop accurate nutrition diagnoses and PES statements aligned to patient conditions
- Implement and monitor nutrition interventions, goals, and outcomes throughout length of stay
- Provide individualized nutrition education and counseling to patients and families
Documentation & Compliance
- Document all assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record (EMR)
- Use standardized nutrition language and approved abbreviations to ensure safety and clarity
- Maintain compliance with Joint Commission, HIPAA, and hospital policies
Interdisciplinary Collaboration
- Partner with physicians, nursing, and care teams to coordinate nutrition plans
- Serve as a nutrition consultant to clinical staff and community programs
- Communicate care plans clearly to ensure continuity across disciplines
Quality Improvement & Operations
- Participate in department quality improvement and performance data reporting
- Support nutrition-related programs such as cardiac rehab and diabetes education
- Assist the Director of Nutritional Services with special projects and departmental needs

This is a 100% onsite position in a hospital setting in Port Clinton, Ohio.

- Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics or Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics–approved program, or equivalent
- Registered Dietitian (RD) with active Ohio licensure (LD)
- Strong patient communication, counseling, and clinical judgment skills
- Proficiency with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) and Microsoft Office tools
Preferred
- 2–3 years of clinical nutrition experience, including chronic disease management
- Experience with medical nutrition therapy billing or ICD diagnosis coding
- Background in food service, menu planning, or recipe development
