SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS
The Quality Technician is responsible for performing inspections, testing, and verification activities to ensure product quality and food safety throughout the facility. This role supports compliance with SQF standards, industry SOPs, line specifications, and customer requirements. The technician ensures that all products manufactured meet established quality and regulatory standards.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The duties listed below are representative but not all‑inclusive. Additional tasks may be assigned by management as needed.
Food Safety Requirements / Responsibilities
Perform analysis, monitoring, and verification activities required under the Safe Quality Food (SQF) System.
Ensure all production process controls are followed.
Comply with all Plant, State, and Federal regulations including OSHA, EPA, FDA, HACCP, and SQF.
Follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) within the facility.
Conduct monitoring activities to ensure finished products meet food safety and quality specifications.
Participate in the annual review of the food safety system.
Assist in maintaining the Food Safety and Quality System.
In‑Line Inspection
Conduct moisture and pH testing.
Perform product quality evaluations, including shelf‑life checks and sample retention programs.
Conduct pre‑operational inspections and in‑line production inspections.
Record production and packaging conditions according to established procedures.
Process non‑conforming product according to company quality standards.
Document abnormal production conditions and immediately communicate with the Production Supervisor and QA Manager.
Prepare and maintain required documentation of test results.
Calibrate all equipment used for in‑line inspections.
Conduct daily and monthly GMP walk‑throughs and sanitation inspections.
Perform ATP testing and environmental swabbing.
Monitor environmental air quality and inspect employee hygiene practices.
Enter data into required records and systems.
Material Sampling and Inspection
Perform receiving inspections based on material specifications and inspection checklists.
Train receiving personnel on raw and packaging material inspection procedures.
Collect samples of raw ingredients and packaging materials used in production.
Organize and update the Packaging and Raw Material Catalogue.
Organize and update Certificates of Analysis (COAs) from suppliers.
Inspect customer‑returned product.
SCHEDULE
Monday–Friday, 10:00 PM – 6:30 AM
Sunday nights: Assist with pre‑operational inspections (pre‑ops)
Salary : $20 - $22
