About the RoleWe’re looking for a Quality Assurance Technician to join our growing QA team! This role plays a key part in supporting the QA Lead and management to maintain the highest standards of food safety and product quality. You’ll help ensure first-article inspections are completed accurately and on time, monitor production for compliance, and take immediate action when deviations occur.

What You’ll DoVerify that line startups meet all product specifications and parameters after pre-op release.
Assist with troubleshooting in-line detection systems (Metal Detector, X-Ray, Checkweigher).
Provide backup coverage for QA Technicians during absences.
Support QA Receiving and QA Shipping when needed.
Maintain and replenish Analytical Chemistry Lab supplies; ensure compliance with GLP.
Collaborate with QA leadership to address and resolve GMP and SQF deviations.
Conduct GMP inspections and ensure food safety and cleanliness standards are upheld.
Report any unsafe or non-compliant conditions immediately to management.
Perform pre-operational inspections, confirm formulas, and verify adherence during runs.
Inspect incoming raw materials for quality and specification compliance.
Calibrate thermometers, scales, and other lab equipment.
Complete and document hold tags, incident reports, and corrective actions.
Take on additional responsibilities as needed to support overall QA operations.
Follow all Food Safety and Quality SOPs.
Report any known or suspected food safety or quality issues promptly.
Attend required Food Safety/Quality training sessions.
1–2 years of Quality Control experience in a food manufacturing environment.
High School Diploma or GED required; Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or Chemistry preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook.
Strong written and verbal communication in English; bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
Familiarity with GMP, GLP, GDP, HACCP, and SQF standards.
HACCP or PCQI certification preferred.
Strong math, organization, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
Flexible to work weekends or varied shifts as needed.
Ability to stand and walk for long periods.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and perform climbing, pushing, and pulling.
Comfortable working around strong food odors and in hot or cold environments.
Must be able to distinguish colors and perform fine hand manipulation (typing, calibration, etc.).
