Technical Writer

We are seeking a highly experienced and detail-oriented professional with 7 to 10 years of expertise in technical documentation, specializing in cybersecurity within complex IT and Operational Technology environments. This role is central to researching, creating, and maintaining critical artifacts related to Cybersecurity Logging and Identity and Access Management tools and applications that support both IT and Industrial Control Systems infrastructure. The ideal candidate will serve as a documentation authority, engaging directly with subject matter experts, peer groups, and vendors to capture operational support materials, playbooks, and best practice documentation throughout the full lifecycle of security asset management. This individual will bring a strong command of documentation standards, a deep understanding of regulated industry environments, and the ability to leverage modern AI-enabled tools to accelerate and improve content quality and delivery.


Responsibilities:

- Research, prepare, edit, and maintain technical documentation updates across the full document lifecycle
- Develop cybersecurity artifacts including operations support materials, onboarding guides, best practices documentation, and playbooks
- Ensure all materials adhere to consistent standards of quality, formatting, and version control
- Develop and maintain critical documentation specific to Identity and Access Management and Logging and Monitoring applications
- Partner with internal and external audit resources to ensure documentation aligns with regulatory compliance requirements such as NERC CIP, SOX, and ISO standards
- Lead discovery meetings with subject matter experts, engineers, analysts, and architects to gather information necessary for document creation
- Coordinate publishing logistics including content location, access control, and compliance considerations for the full material inventory
- Leverage AI capabilities to accelerate and automate content creation and optimization where applicable
- Continuously align documentation with evolving technologies, emerging threats, and changing regulatory requirements


Skills:

- Technical documentation and editorial excellence with a strong command of formatting, versioning, and publishing standards
- Cybersecurity and technical domain expertise including Identity and Access Management concepts such as RBAC, MFA, and PAM, as well as Logging and Monitoring technologies including SIEM, SOAR, EDR, XDR, OT monitoring, incident response, and operational workflows
- Familiarity with content management and collaboration platforms such as SharePoint or Confluence, as well as exposure to security tools such as Splunk, CrowdStrike, Dragos, and Industrial Defender
- Experience utilizing AI and automation tools for assisted writing, summarization, editing, and content optimization
- Strong collaboration and project integration skills with the ability to operate effectively within both cross-functional and siloed organizational environments


Experience:

- 7 to 10 years of experience in technical documentation with a demonstrated focus on cybersecurity, IT, Industrial Control Systems, or Operational Technology environments
- Proven experience researching, editing, and maintaining complex technical documents across the full document lifecycle
- Demonstrated experience developing artifacts such as runbooks, playbooks, standard operating procedures, onboarding guides, and system documentation
- Hands-on familiarity with Identity and Access Management systems and logging and monitoring platforms including SIEM and EDR or XDR solutions
- Experience working within regulated or compliance-driven industries, with preference given to candidates with a background in the utility, energy, healthcare, finance, or government sectors
- Proven ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and subject matter experts to produce accurate and comprehensive documentation
- Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance and streamline documentation creation and ongoing maintenance


Qualifications:

- Certified Authorization Professional or equivalent Governance, Risk, and Compliance certification preferred
- Technical Writing Certification such as those offered through the Society for Technical Communication preferred
