The Claim Technician plays a key role in supporting the claims process by ensuring claims-related activities are completed accurately, professionally, and within established service standards. This position is ideal for someone who is highly detail-oriented, organized, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Previous claims experience is not required, as training will be provided for individuals with strong communication skills, professionalism, and the ability to learn quickly.

As part of the Claims Department team, the Claim Technician is responsible for maintaining positive working relationships with team members while delivering quality administrative and operational support to claim handlers.


Responsibilities

  • Complete assigned claims support activities in a timely and accurate manner according to company service standards
  • Assist with claim input, documentation management, and preparation of responses for claim handler review
  • Maintain an understanding of departmental guidelines, workflows, and procedures
  • Provide timely and accurate support to claim handlers to help ensure efficient claims processing
  • Work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment while also demonstrating the ability to work independently
  • Adapt to changing priorities and support additional projects or business needs as assigned
  • Communicate professionally with internal team members and external claimants when necessary
  • Manage multiple tasks and priorities in a high-volume environment while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail


Qualifications

  • Claims experience is not required
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; some college preferred
  • 2-4 Years of Administrative Experience
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Professional demeanor with the ability to work effectively with others
  • Strong problem-solving and time management abilities
  • Comfortable handling high-volume workloads and shifting priorities
  • Basic phone communication skills with the ability to interact professionally and positively with claimants
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat preferred, or the ability to quickly learn new systems and software
  • Ability to learn and adapt to new processes and technology
