Accounting Specialist / Client Consultant

Position Summary
The Accounting Specialist / Client Consultant will act as a liaison between clients and internal accounting teams, ensuring clients receive outstanding service and strategic guidance regarding bookkeeping, accounting, payroll, and tax-related services. This individual will develop strong client relationships, identify opportunities to add value, and help ensure the successful delivery of services across a diverse portfolio of businesses.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a primary point of contact for new and existing clients, building trusted and long-term relationships.
- Consult with business owners and organizational leaders to understand their accounting, bookkeeping, payroll, and tax service needs.
- Conduct client meetings, onboarding sessions, and regular account reviews.
- Communicate financial information clearly and professionally to clients with varying levels of accounting knowledge.
- Coordinate with internal bookkeeping, accounting, and tax professionals to ensure timely and accurate service delivery.
- Review client financial information and assist in identifying process improvements and service opportunities.
- Respond to client questions and concerns regarding accounting records, financial reports, payroll matters, and tax-related services.
- Monitor client satisfaction and proactively address issues to ensure an exceptional client experience.
- Support business development efforts by identifying opportunities for additional services within existing client accounts.
- Maintain detailed records of client interactions and service requests.
- Stay informed on accounting best practices, tax updates, and industry trends to support clients better.
Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
- 2 years of experience in accounting, bookkeeping, client services, financial consulting, public accounting, or a related field.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial statements.
- Experience working directly with clients, customers, or business stakeholders.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to explain financial concepts in a clear, professional, and approachable manner.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple client relationships simultaneously.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting platforms is highly preferred.
