About the Role
The Capital Reserve Specialist will play a critical role in assessing, planning, and managing capital reserve funds for our clients. This position requires an in-depth understanding of building systems, lifecycle costing, and financial forecasting to ensure that adequate funds are set aside for future repairs and replacements. You will work closely with property owners, managers, and engineers to develop comprehensive capital reserve studies that support the long-term financial health of our clients' assets.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct detailed assessments of building components and systems to determine their condition and remaining useful life.
- Develop and update capital reserve studies, including cost estimates and funding plans.
- Analyze financial data to provide recommendations for reserve funding strategies.
- Collaborate with property managers, owners, and engineering teams to gather necessary information and ensure accurate reporting.
- Prepare and present comprehensive reports that outline capital reserve needs and funding recommendations.
- Monitor trends in construction costs, maintenance practices, and relevant regulations to update capital reserve studies as needed.
- Provide expert advice to clients on capital reserve planning and management.
- Assist in the preparation of long-term maintenance and replacement schedules.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in capital reserve planning, structural engineering, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills with experience in financial forecasting and lifecycle costing.
- Proficiency in relevant software for cost estimation and financial analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and effectively.
- Knowledge of building systems, materials, and construction practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
