A growing multi-asset investment platform is seeking a senior credit risk professional to oversee risk management for its private credit portfolio, including, workout or restructuring of existing transactions. This role partners closely with investment teams and portfolio managers on complex private markets deals. Ideal for someone who thrives in a high-ownership, highly visible environment, this position offers significant influence over portfolio outcomes and firmwide credit risk strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary credit-risk owner for the firm’s private credit portfolio, providing independent oversight across all assigned investments.
- Evaluate transaction risk across leveraged buyouts, sponsor-backed situations, and specialty/asset-based financings.
- Continuously monitor portfolio exposures, track evolving credit trends, and recommend proactive mitigation strategies.
- Review deal structures, covenant packages, and supporting documentation to ensure alignment with risk disciplines and performance goals.
- Partner closely with Portfolio Managers and investment teams as their key risk counterpart on new and existing deals.
- Interface with external sponsors, corporate finance contacts, and internal stakeholders to support credit-risk decisions.
- Draft and present credit opinions, risk memos, and portfolio updates for senior leadership and risk committees.
- Maintain awareness of market activity, sponsor behavior, sector shifts, and macro conditions impacting private credit performance.
- Leverage prior workout, restructuring, or distressed experience to assess downside scenarios and recovery frameworks.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of risk processes, tools, and reporting as the platform scales its alternative-credit capabilities.
