A globally recognized international banking platform is seeking a Vice President to join its Special Credit function within the corporate portfolio management team. This group focuses on managing distressed leveraged finance and underperforming corporate credit exposures across a diverse portfolio. The role offers direct involvement in restructuring situations, close interaction with advisory teams, and high visibility to senior risk leadership in a fast-moving, credit-intensive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Actively monitor and manage a portfolio of distressed leveraged finance and large corporate credit exposures
- Analyze borrower financial performance, including cash flow forecasting (e.g., 13-week cash flow models), covenant compliance, and liquidity positions
- Assess turnaround viability, restructuring scenarios, and repayment capacity across stressed credits
- Identify drivers of credit deterioration, default risk, and potential recovery strategies
- Support restructuring efforts in collaboration with external advisors and internal deal teams
- Lead preparation and execution of waivers, amendments, and related credit documentation
- Drive credit approval processes, including credit applications, due diligence, and negotiation of terms
- Perform quarterly reserve analysis, write-off calculations, and credit cost forecasting under applicable accounting standards
- Prepare detailed portfolio and account-level reporting for senior management and governance committees
- Escalate emerging credit, operational, or portfolio risks in a timely and structured manner
- Support regulatory exams, audits, and internal review processes with required documentation and analysis
- Stay current on market conditions, industry trends, and macroeconomic developments impacting distressed credits
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to broader team development and training efforts
