Overview
A nationally recognized advisory firm is expanding its International Tax practice and seeking an experienced International Tax Partner to lead its inbound tax advisory group. This role focuses on delivering sophisticated tax planning for foreign businesses and individuals with U.S. operations, managing complex cross-border issues, and guiding clients through U.S. federal and state tax requirements.
This is a senior leadership position responsible for technical oversight, client advisory, compliance governance, and team development within a rapidly growing international tax platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement inbound tax strategies for non-U.S. corporations, investors, and individuals operating in the U.S.
- Advise on cross-border structuring, tax-efficient supply chains, financing arrangements, and inbound investment planning.
- Provide guidance on tax treaties, PE analysis, withholding rules, and compliance obligations.
- Oversee preparation and review of U.S. federal and state filings for inbound entities and individuals (Forms 1120-F, 5472, and related international schedules).
- Coordinate FATCA/CRS reporting and manage global information-sharing requirements.
- Identify tax risks and opportunities for inbound transactions and expansions.
- Maintain deep fluency in U.S. and international tax changes and proactively advise clients on impacts.
- Serve as a trusted technical resource for the broader tax practice on inbound matters.
- Build, manage, and mentor a team of tax professionals, elevating technical and client-service capabilities.
- Lead client relationship development, including presentations, planning discussions, and cross-border advisory sessions.
- Support business development through networking, referrals, and market visibility initiatives.
- Represent the firm at tax conferences, thought leadership forums, and industry events.
- Ensure proper documentation of tax positions and risk-mitigation practices.
- Drive process improvements to enhance quality, efficiency, and technical excellence within the international tax group.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- CPA, JD, or Master’s in Taxation strongly preferred.
- 10 years of experience in U.S. inbound international tax.
- Proven expertise in cross-border tax planning, treaty analysis, withholding, and inbound structuring.
- Experience overseeing compliance for foreign entities operating in the U.S.
- Proficiency with research platforms (CCH, RIA) and tax preparation tools.
- Strong leadership presence, communication skills, and ability to oversee complex client relationships.
- Demonstrated business-development capability or appetite to grow a book of inbound international clients.
Salary : $220,000 - $500,000
