Overview
A leading alternative investment platform is seeking a valuation professional to join its Valuation Control Group supporting a broad real estate investment portfolio across multiple asset classes, investment structures, and global markets. This role will focus on performing and overseeing valuation analyses for both equity and debt investments while partnering closely with investment teams, third-party valuation firms, auditors, and senior leadership.
The position offers strong exposure to complex real estate investments and provides visibility into portfolio performance, market trends, and valuation governance processes within a highly institutional investment environment.
Responsibilities
- Perform valuation analyses for real estate equity and debt investments across various property sectors and geographies
- Build and maintain valuation models utilizing DCF, market comparable, and yield analysis methodologies
- Partner with investment/deal teams to monitor portfolio developments, market trends, and operational performance impacting valuations
- Prepare executive-level valuation materials and reporting for presentation to valuation committees and senior management
- Lead and manage third-party valuation review processes, including valuation discussions, analytics review, and responding to inquiries
- Support quarterly valuation reviews with auditors and investors by explaining methodologies, assumptions, and fair value conclusions
- Identify, escalate, and resolve valuation discrepancies, risks, and control-related issues
- Assist in enhancing valuation governance, controls, and operational processes in line with industry best practices
- Analyze macroeconomic and property-level trends impacting asset values and portfolio performance
- Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, portfolio management, and investment teams
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Real Estate, or related field
- 5–7 years of relevant experience in valuation, real estate finance, investment banking, advisory, or related fields
- Prior experience within real estate valuation, private equity real estate, asset management, or investment platforms preferred
- Strong understanding of fair value accounting concepts under US GAAP
- Experience building and analyzing valuation models including DCF, market approach, and yield analysis
- Strong financial modeling and analytical capabilities
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to present findings to senior stakeholders
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities and collaborative mindset
Salary : $190,000 - $200,000
