Overview
A leading public accounting firm is seeking a Tax Senior to join its Financial Services Tax practice. This role provides exposure to hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate funds, and investment managers, supporting both tax compliance and advisory engagements.
The ideal candidate will have experience with partnership taxation, fund structures, and complex financial instruments while working closely with clients on planning, reporting, and tax optimization.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and review tax returns for hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate funds, general partners, and investment managers.
- Perform security analysis and calculate fund-specific tax adjustments.
- Prepare and review complex partnership tax allocations.
- Research tax treatment for financial instruments and corporate actions.
- Assist with tax planning, fund structuring, and tax strategy optimization.
- Support fund administration teams with day-to-day tax matters.
- Communicate with federal and state tax authorities as needed.
- Conduct tax research and provide technical guidance on complex tax issues.
- Partner with clients and advisors to deliver tax compliance and consulting services.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field; Master’s in Taxation preferred.
- CPA eligible.
- 3–5 years of public accounting tax experience.
- Strong tax compliance and tax research background.
- Knowledge of partnership taxation with a focus on investment funds.
- Experience serving hedge funds, private equity funds, real estate funds, or other financial services clients preferred.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Executive presence and ability to interact directly with clients.
- Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Willingness to work additional hours during peak tax season.
Salary : $95,000 - $110,000
