Overview:
A well-capitalized global financial institution is making a significant investment in its U.S. capital stress testing infrastructure and is seeking a senior risk leader to head that build-out. This is a rare opportunity to step into a newly created function and construct the CCAR framework, governance, and team from the ground up, with full support from senior leadership and meaningful visibility to regulators. For the right person, this is the kind of role that comes along once in a career — real scope, real resources, and a clean slate to do it right.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and implementation of a comprehensive CCAR and capital stress testing oversight framework, building the function from its foundation
- Recruit and develop a specialized team of capital risk professionals with deep expertise in stress testing, regulatory capital, and capital planning
- Provide independent second line oversight of capital ratios and stress projections under both baseline and adverse scenarios, ensuring rigor and credibility across the process
- Review and challenge key capital metrics including CET1, Tier 1, Total Capital, leverage ratios, and risk-weighted assets across relevant entities
- Establish governance structures, escalation protocols, and documentation standards appropriate for a CCAR-regulated institution
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regional regulators on capital and stress testing matters, representing the second line function with authority and clarity
- Partner with Treasury, Finance, and business leadership to assess capital actions, stress results, and balance sheet strategy
- Identify and close gaps in the capital risk framework, driving enhancement plans through to completion
- Prepare and present capital analyses, stress test results, and oversight findings to senior management, regional boards, and risk committees
- Ensure timely identification and escalation of capital issues, limit breaches, and emerging risks
- Drive process automation and operational efficiency across the function as it scales
- Coordinate with global risk counterparts to align methodologies and ensure consistency across jurisdictions
Salary : $225,000 - $275,000
