Overview
Our client, a global financial institution with a growing commodities and energy trading platform, is seeking an AVP / VP within Operational Risk Framework & Governance. This individual will play a key role in enhancing the firm’s risk governance, policy design, and control environment across multiple trading and support functions. The role offers high visibility, direct collaboration with senior management, and the opportunity to influence the ongoing build-out of a best-in-class operational risk framework in a dynamic and evolving market space.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish, implement, and maintain the firm’s Operational Risk Management Framework, ensuring consistent application across commodities and energy businesses.
- Develop and maintain policies, procedures, and governance taxonomies to strengthen enterprise-wide operational risk standards.
- Partner with trading, operations, technology, and compliance teams to embed strong risk ownership and accountability.
- Provide independent review and challenge on Enterprise Risk Assessments, internal controls, and new product or business initiatives.
- Support core Operational Risk programs, including Incident Management, RCSA, KRIs, and Scenario Analysis.
- Oversee the execution of control testing, remediation tracking, and governance reporting for senior stakeholders.
- Contribute to regulatory and management reporting, ensuring transparency of key risk exposures and trends.
- Collaborate closely with data, finance, and audit teams to improve reporting capabilities and control metrics.
- Stay informed of industry best practices and regulatory expectations impacting risk management within global trading environments.
