Description

Essential Duties:

  • Perform full disassembly of used or damaged emergency vehicles, including removal of interior/exterior components, electrical systems, cabinetry, and mounts.
  • Document and label reusable parts; properly dispose of non-usable materials in accordance with company procedures.
  • Prep bare modules for remounting, including sanding, grinding, or minor welding as needed.
  • Assemble and install both interior and exterior components such as cabinetry, flooring, lighting, wall panels, compartment dividers, doors, windows, and trim.
  • Fit and secure emergency equipment (e.g., stretcher mounts, oxygen systems) and communication systems.
  • Run, terminate, and test electrical wiring for lighting, outlets, and other installed systems.
  • Modify parts and components for proper fit, finish, and functionality.
  • Interpret and follow blueprints, build specifications, and work orders.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure compliance with functional and safety standards.
  • Use hand and power tools safely and effectively for all phases of production.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area at all times.
  • Collaborate with team members across departments to resolve build or process issues efficiently.
  • Follow all safety protocols and wear required PPE.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in mechanical assembly with a strong understanding of assembly techniques and processes
  • Solid mechanical aptitude with the ability to apply mechanical principles to hands-on tasks
  • Skilled and safe use of power tools, hand tools, and machinery, including drills, taps, electric drills, and impact tools
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, diagrams, and build specifications
  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accurate and high-quality assembly
  • Effective problem-solving skills to identify and resolve assembly issues
  • Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate across departments and functions
  • Physically capable of lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods

Desirable Qualifications

  • Experience in automotive assembly and fabrication
  • Familiarity with emergency vehicle specifications and build requirements

ADA Requirements

  • Bend, squat, climb, grasp, twist, reach, lift or otherwise move frequently for extended periods.
  • Lift, move or otherwise transfer up to 50 lbs frequently, or more occasionally.
  • Walk, stand or otherwise move about continuously.
  • Typically sits, grasp items and performs keyboarding for occasional operation of a computer.
  • Exposure to typical machine shop physical hazards including chemicals which may require respiratory protection.
