Territory Sales Representative – Construction Equipment Rental

Position Overview
We are seeking a driven Territory Sales Representative to grow and manage a book of business within the construction equipment rental market. This role is responsible for maintaining existing customer relationships while aggressively developing new business across the assigned territory.
You’ll work closely with internal leadership to execute sales strategies, increase market share, and deliver solutions that meet customer needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and grow assigned territory through strategic sales planning
- Maintain and expand relationships with existing customers
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities
- Promote and sell rental and equipment solutions
- Prepare and present quotes, bids, and contracts
- Generate and maintain accurate sales reports and activity tracking
- Build and manage a strong referral network
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customer inquiries and orders
- Support customers with product knowledge and equipment applications
- Collaborate with internal teams to execute business plans and meet targets
Qualifications
- 1–5 years of experience in outside sales, preferably in construction equipment or rental industry
- Strong understanding of sales processes (prospecting, negotiating, closing)
- Proven ability to build long-term customer relationships
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Highly organized with strong time management abilities
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment
- Valid driver’s license required
Preferred Background
- Experience in construction equipment, trench safety, or rental solutions
- Exposure to bidding projects and managing service contracts
- Technical understanding of equipment applications is a plus
Travel & Work Environment
- Frequent local travel within territory; occasional overnight travel
- Mix of field sales, office work, and customer job site visits
- Exposure to various weather and job site conditions
