Maintenance Technician

Department: Mold Maintenance

Reports To: Department Head

Role Summary

As a Mold Maintenance Technician, you will play a vital role in the preparation and upkeep of molds utilized for manufacturing carbon fiber and fiberglass parts for the defense, medical, and automotive sectors. Your primary focus is to guarantee that all molds are fully prepared for production, adhere to strict quality benchmarks, and contribute to the overall efficiency of our manufacturing processes.

Core Duties

• Manage the loading and unloading of molds and finished parts into autoclaves
• Clear away and discard used bagging consumables
• Take apart molds by utilizing impact drills, wrenches, and various hand tools
• Refine mold surfaces through the use of abrasives and sandpaper
• Fix small surface imperfections by applying fiberglass and resin compounds
• Help ensure a smooth production flow by safely extracting composite components with non-metal tools and compressed air
• Sanitize molds and coat them with release agents to ensure they are ready for the next cycle
• Help maintain a safe, tidy, and well-organized workspace for the entire team
• Adhere to all established quality protocols, company policies, and standard work instructions

Qualifications

• Prior background in mold maintenance, composite work, or general manufacturing is a plus
• High level of precision and meticulous attention to detail
• Capable of prioritizing tasks to hit production deadlines
• Ability to thrive in a high-pressure, fast-moving work setting
• Excellent organizational, communication, and collaborative skills
• Driven by results and highly self-motivated
• Open to working extra hours when production needs arise
• Willing to learn new skills and adjust to evolving job duties
• Dependable transportation and the ability to clear a drug screening

Physical Demands

• Capable of walking and standing for long durations
• Frequent use of fingers, wrists, and hands
• Able to lift at least 20 lbs, with mechanical assistance provided for heavier molds
