Industrial Environmental Technician

As an Industrial Environmental Technician, you will manage various tasks related to the remediation and sanitation of industrial plant sites.

You will utilize specialized tools such as dry ice blasting systems, high-pressure water units, and industrial vacuums to manage both hazardous and non-hazardous materials. This role provides a collaborative team environment where you can expand your technical expertise and progress from an entry-level position into leadership capacities.

SUPERVISION: Regional Manager

CORE DUTIES:

• Utilize a variety of heavy and light machinery, such as vacuum systems, hydro-blasting tools, pumps, man lifts, forklifts, and jackhammers.
• Support site safety by conducting thorough clean-ups of water and chemical spills, as well as decontaminating tanks, boilers, and other industrial equipment.
• Conduct routine assessments of vehicles, job-site equipment, and overall health and safety standards.
• Engage in demanding physical tasks, including the pushing, pulling, and lifting of heavy materials to ensure site efficiency.
• Monitor equipment performance to ensure optimal operation and report any mechanical issues to management immediately.
• Uphold a professional image and conduct yourself appropriately while wearing company attire on-site.
• Provide rapid and reliable support when responding to on-call requirements.
• Maintain a clean driving record, a valid license, and successfully clear DOT medical exams, drug tests, and background screenings.
• Previous background in industrial, environmental, or construction sectors is considered an advantage.
• Demonstrated mechanical aptitude is highly valued.
• Exhibit strong multitasking skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Remain flexible regarding travel requirements, typically within a four-hour radius.
• Successfully complete company-sponsored training programs, including 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER and confined space entry (CSE) certification.
• Execute additional tasks as directed by management.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

You must be capable of performing rigorous physical labor for extended durations. The role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, and climbing onto tanks, ladders, or scaffolding. You should be able to lift weights between 50 and 75 pounds and operate a motor vehicle safely. Work environments may involve confined spaces and elevated noise levels, as well as potential exposure to various physical or chemical agents that may be corrosive, toxic, or hazardous. You must demonstrate the ability to work independently to complete tasks, correctly utilize all required personal protective equipment (PPE) including respirators, and maintain a clean-shaven appearance to ensure a proper seal. Be prepared for work shifts that often exceed 8 hours, occasionally extending to 12 or 24 hours.
