About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Equipment Technician to ensure the optimal performance and reliability of our production equipment. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in mechanical and electrical systems to troubleshoot issues, perform preventative maintenance, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Your proficiency in reading blueprints and operating robots will be essential to your success.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and robotic equipment malfunctions to minimize downtime.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance on mill stands and guiding equipment, ensuring they meet operational standards.
- Set up mill stands with correctly installed rolls and prepared guides, optimizing them for upcoming product rollings.
- Utilize QMOS to open work orders, access documents, and adjust stand build-ups based on scheduling needs.
- Manage parts inventory in SAP, ensuring a sufficient supply of spare guides and stands.
- Collaborate with Roll Turners to prioritize roll redressing based on availability and rolling cycles.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe working environment in the roll shop.
Required Skills
- Proficiency in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting.
- Experience with maintenance and repair of industrial equipment.
- Basic computer skills, including MS Office programs (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Ability to work overtime as needed.
Preferred Skills
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with CNC Mills, Roll Forming Machines, and Tube Mills.
- Leadership skills with the ability to coach and mentor team members.
