Overview
A well-established mechanical contractor is seeking a VDC Lead to drive coordination, modeling, and digital construction efforts across complex commercial and industrial HVAC/plumbing projects. This is a high-impact role focused on leading BIM/VDC initiatives, improving project execution, and supporting field and preconstruction teams.
- Lead all VDC/BIM efforts across multiple projects from preconstruction through closeout
- Oversee development of detailed 3D models (Revit, Navisworks) for HVAC, piping, and plumbing systems
- Manage and run clash detection, coordination meetings, and model reviews with internal teams and trade partners
- Collaborate closely with project managers, estimators, engineers, and field teams to ensure constructability and accuracy
- Develop and maintain VDC standards, workflows, and best practices
- Support prefabrication efforts through accurate model-based deliverables and spool drawings
- Mentor and oversee VDC designers and coordinators
- Integrate laser scanning, point cloud data, and as-built modeling where applicable
- Assist in driving adoption of new construction technologies and digital tools
- 5 years of experience in VDC/BIM within mechanical construction
- Strong proficiency in Revit, Navisworks, and related BIM tools
- Background in HVAC, piping, or plumbing systems within commercial/industrial projects
- Experience leading coordination efforts on complex projects (healthcare, labs, institutional, or large commercial preferred)
- Strong understanding of construction sequencing, detailing, and installation practices
- Ability to manage multiple projects and communicate effectively across teams
- Experience with fabrication-level modeling and prefab workflows
- Familiarity with tools such as AutoCAD, BIM 360, Trimble, or related platforms
- Previous leadership or team management experience

Salary : $105,000 - $135,000
