Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Design
- Conduct advanced hydrologic and hydraulic evaluations related to major infrastructure programs, including flow modeling, flood mitigation, and system performance assessments.
- Lead the design and development of large conveyance systems such as pipelines, canals, tunnels, and pump stations.
- Oversee the engineering of water storage and regulation facilities, including dams, reservoirs, diversion structures, and related assets.
- Support the development of municipal and regional systems for potable water, wastewater, reuse, and advanced treatment processes.
- Develop technical documentation including reports, calculations, and design deliverables.
- Prepare construction plans, specifications, cost analyses, and material estimates.
- Ensure design work aligns with applicable regulatory requirements and industry standards.
- Provide technical direction to junior staff and contribute to a collaborative team culture.
Project Execution & Coordination
- Work closely with project leadership to advance design packages and meet established project goals.
- Independently manage assigned tasks while maintaining accuracy, quality, and schedule commitments.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers, supporting their technical development and project contributions.
- Assist with coordination tasks such as scheduling, budgeting, and internal communication.
- Participate in interdisciplinary project discussions and coordination efforts.
- Engage in meetings with external stakeholders, including clients and regulatory agencies.
Business Development Support
- Contribute to proposals by developing technical narratives, defining scopes of work, and supporting fee estimates.
- Assist with qualifications packages and other marketing materials.
- Help maintain and grow client relationships through consistent engagement and high-quality deliverables.
Collaboration & Communication
- Clearly communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences, both internally and externally.
- Work effectively alongside professionals in related disciplines such as environmental, construction, and digital services.
- Participate in industry groups, technical forums, or professional events as appropriate.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or a closely related discipline required; advanced education is advantageous.
- Approximately 10 years of progressive experience in water infrastructure design and delivery.
- Demonstrated experience with large-scale hydraulic systems such as transmission networks, storage facilities, or treatment plants.
- Professional engineering licensure required or ability to obtain licensure within a reasonable period.
Technical Skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with sound engineering judgment.
- Familiarity with engineering and modeling software commonly used in water resources design (e.g., hydrologic/hydraulic modeling platforms and GIS-based tools).
- Experience working with governmental or regulatory agencies is preferred.
