Product Director

Job Title: Product Leader (Industrial Portfolio)

Location: Remote
Reporting to: Head of Product

A leading distributor in the industrial/building technologies space is looking for a commercially minded Product Leader to take ownership of a defined product portfolio and associated supplier relationships. This role sits at the intersection of product strategy, supplier management, and sales support, with a strong focus on driving revenue growth and margin performance.

Product & Portfolio Management

• Develop and execute strategy across a defined product category
• Manage lifecycle, positioning, and cross-sell opportunities
• Track market trends, customer needs, and competitive activity

Supplier & Vendor Management

• Own relationships with key manufacturers and suppliers
• Lead commercial negotiations (pricing, rebates, programs)
• Act as the main link between external partners and internal teams

Sales Partnership

• Support sales teams with product expertise, training, and tools
• Contribute to deal strategy and opportunity development
• Identify performance gaps and drive improvements

Commercial Performance

• Manage pricing strategy and margin optimisation
• Partner with operations and finance on inventory and forecasting
• Monitor KPIs and adjust approach to improve results

Marketing & Enablement

• Collaborate on campaigns, messaging, and go-to-market activity
• Support content creation and product promotion efforts
• Represent the business at industry events when required
  
  

• 5 years in product management, category management, or technical/commercial roles within industrial, HVAC, automation, or similar sectors
• Strong experience managing supplier/vendor relationships
• Commercially driven with pricing and margin ownership experience
• Comfortable working cross-functionally with sales, marketing, and operations
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  
  

• Experience with ERP/CRM systems
• Exposure to technical product categories (automation, controls, electrical, HVAC)
• Background in distribution or manufacturer-side environments
