Senior Lead Geotechnical / Geo-Environmental Engineer (Associate Level)
LVI is partnered with a leading, employee-owned (esop) engineering consulting firm that delivers complex environmental, geotechnical, and infrastructure solutions across a broad range of sectors. The firm supports clients through the full lifecycle of projects from site investigation and regulatory strategy to design, remediation, and long-term monitoring on technically challenging and high-impact developments.
Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Senior Geotechnical / Geo-Environmental Engineer (Associate Level) to take on a leadership role within their team.
The Role
This is a senior, client-facing position combining technical leadership, project delivery, and business development. You will lead multidisciplinary projects, mentor junior staff, and act as a trusted advisor to clients across complex environmental and ground engineering challenges.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the technical delivery of environmental and geotechnical projects across investigation, design, remediation, and closeout
- Plan and oversee site investigations and data collection programs, including soil, groundwater, and vapour assessments
- Evaluate environmental data and develop practical remediation and engineering solutions
- Manage project delivery, including budgets, timelines, and client communication
- Prepare and review technical reports, design documents, and regulatory submissions
- Support business development and client relationship growth
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior team members
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Geology, or related discipline
- 9 years of experience within environmental, geotechnical, or consulting engineering
- Proven experience leading environmental investigation and remediation projects
- Strong understanding of site investigation techniques, contaminant behaviour, and remediation methodologies
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, lead teams, and interface with clients and regulators
- Experience preparing and reviewing technical reports, design documents, and regulatory submissions
- Familiarity with permitting processes and environmental compliance frameworks
- Professional licensure (or working toward) is highly desirable
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
