What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Marketing — Premium Flooring & Interior Surfaces position at Luxury Executive?
Director of Marketing — Premium Flooring & Interior Surfaces Calhoun, Georgia · On-site
Luxury Executive is exclusively engaged on this search. Our client is a well-established American design-led flooring house with a long-standing reputation at the premium end of the interior design and specialist retail market.
Their hard surface business — hardwood, laminate and luxury vinyl — is the growth engine, and it has outgrown the marketing behind it. This appointment is to lead it.
Why this role matters
This is where the category is moving and where our client is investing. The brand equity already exists on the soft surface side; the task here is to give the hard surface business its own voice, its own product story and its own place in the mind of the retailer and the designer who specify it.
You will own that.
The remit
- Own hard surface marketing end to end: brand positioning, product marketing, launches, campaigns, content and merchandising.
- Build the go-to-market for new collections — naming, story, sampling, display and launch programmes that give the sales organisation something to sell with.
- Market through the channel, not around it: independent flooring retailers, buying groups and co-ops, and the designer and specifier community.
- Own the merchandising and sampling programme — displays, sample sets, racks and point-of-sale. In this category the display is the marketing.
- Run the trade calendar: shows, dealer meetings, designer events, trade press and partnerships.
- Build the digital layer — site, product content, visualisation tools, social and email — with the discipline to make it serve the dealer as well as the consumer.
- Work in genuine partnership with sales, product development and the design team.
What we are looking for
- 8 years' marketing experience, including time leading product or brand marketing for a physical product sold through a dealer, retail or specifier channel.
- Flooring experience is welcome but not a requirement. We are equally interested in marketers from adjacent premium interior surfaces and home categories — tile, stone, countertops, cabinetry, furniture, textiles, decorative hardware — where the channel experience genuinely matches.
- Demonstrable product launch experience: you have taken a collection from concept to sell-in to sell-through.
- Real understanding of how independent retailers and buying groups actually make decisions.
- Comfortable in a business where taste matters — this is a design-led house, and the work has to look like it.
- Willing to be on-site in Northwest Georgia and to travel to customers, shows and events.
