Role Description:
International Flooring Company is looking for a Head of Forecasting and Inventory Management to own our end-to-end demand planning, purchasing, and inventory control. You will be the single point of accountability for inventory levels, turns, and service levels across all product categories, and you will lead the continued build-out of our AI-driven forecasting model. This role sits at the intersection of Sales, Finance, Supply Chain, and Operations, balancing product availability against working capital as the company grows. rship Own the end-to-end inventory planning and ordering process for all product categories (WPC, SPC, LVT, accessories, etc.). Serve as the single point of accountability for inventory levels, turns, service levels, and excess/obsolete inventory. Forecasting & Planning Lead the demand forecasting process (statistical collaborative with Sales). Maintain and continuously improve the existing AI/forecasting model; drive toward higher automation of purchase order recommendations. Set and manage safety stock policies by ABC classification (or refined segmentation) and review them regularly. Develop and maintain forward-looking inventory plans aligned with sales growth targets, seasonality, and new product launches. Ordering & Supplier Management Create, issue, and manage all purchase orders to overseas and domestic suppliers. Optimize order quantities, timing, and container utilization while balancing service levels and working capital. Coordinate closely with Supply Chain on ocean freight, container schedules, lead times, and potential delays/rollovers. Monitor supplier performance (OTIF, quality, lead time reliability) and escalate issues proactively. Inventory Control & Execution Own inventory accuracy, cycle counting strategy, and reconciliation processes. Monitor and manage aged, slow-moving, and obsolete inventory; drive disposition plans. Track and report key metrics: inventory turns, days of supply, fill rate, backorder rates, excess inventory $/%, and forecast accuracy. Partner with Distribution/Operations on warehouse space utilization, slotting, and inbound receiving priorities. Cross-Functional Leadership Act as the primary inventory liaison between Sales, Product, Finance, and Operations. Provide clear, data-driven recommendations on inventory investment vs. risk trade-offs. Support S&OP / demand-supply balancing meetings with actionable inventory insights. Identify and drive process improvements that reduce manual work and improve responsiveness. Reporting & Continuous Improvement Deliver regular inventory health dashboards and exception-based reporting to leadership. Own root-cause analysis on stockouts, overstocks, and forecast misses. Continuously refine policies, parameters, and tools to support the company's growth plan while protecting cash.
