Social Worker – Refugee Foster Care (Fairfax, VA)
Every child deserves safety, belonging, and hope.
For many unaccompanied refugee minors, the journey to the United States is marked by loss, hardship, and resilience. At Lutheran Social Services of the National Capital Area, we walk beside them as they begin new lives.
We’re searching for a Social Worker with heart, skill, and commitment — someone who is ready to make a life-changing difference.
What You’ll Do
Be the steady hand guiding children and teens through foster care, helping them heal and grow.
Partner with foster families, schools, and community providers to ensure each child feels supported.
Write service plans and court reports that protect their rights and safeguard their futures.
Use your Spanish language skills to build trust and understanding with families and youth.
Who You Are
You hold a degree in Social Work (or related field) and bring at least 2 years of experience working with children.
You understand the impact of trauma and believe in every child’s ability to thrive.
You are compassionate, resourceful, and ready to advocate fiercely for youth.
Why This Role Matters
