What are the responsibilities and job description for the Directof of Quality Control position at Lumen Resources?
We're looking for a Director of Quality Assurance & Quality Control to lead enterprise quality strategy for a rapidly growing organization delivering complex industrial and mission-critical infrastructure solutions.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute the organization's quality strategy, establishing enterprise-wide Quality Management System (QMS) standards, governance, and best practices across the entire product lifecycle
- Build and scale Quality Assurance and Quality Control organizations, including team structure, operating procedures, performance metrics, and talent development initiatives
- Establish quality oversight from product design and engineering through sourcing, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, customer delivery, and long-term operational support
- Lead enterprise quality governance by implementing standardized processes, documentation, inspection procedures, testing methodologies, and release controls across multiple business functions
- Drive supplier quality initiatives, including supplier qualification, performance evaluations, manufacturing audits, corrective actions, and continuous supplier development
- Partner with Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Operations, Program Management, Commercial, and Field Services teams to embed quality into every phase of product development and execution
- Oversee quality performance metrics, including defect reduction, warranty trends, field reliability, customer feedback, and operational performance while driving measurable improvements
- Lead root cause investigations, corrective and preventive action (CAPA) programs, and enterprise risk mitigation efforts to improve product reliability and operational excellence
- Ensure products, manufacturing processes, and quality systems comply with applicable North American regulatory requirements, certifications, and industry standards
What We're Looking For
- 14 - 18 years of experience within Quality Assurance, Quality Control, Manufacturing, Engineering, or Operations leadership in industrial, energy, infrastructure, or mission-critical environments
- 6 - 10 years leading enterprise quality organizations, building high-performing teams, and managing cross-functional quality programs
- Experience designing, implementing, and scaling enterprise Quality Management Systems (QMS) and quality governance frameworks
- Demonstrated success overseeing quality throughout the full product lifecycle, including design, manufacturing, supplier management, commissioning, installation, and customer delivery
- Strong understanding of quality standards such as ISO 9001 and experience developing enterprise quality policies, procedures, and operational controls
- Experience leading supplier quality programs, manufacturing quality initiatives, audits, inspections, and vendor performance management
- Proven ability to lead root cause analysis, CAPA initiatives, risk management programs, and continuous improvement efforts
- Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, Operational Excellence, or similar process improvement methodologies
