What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sap Solutions Architect position at LTM?
Role: SAP Solution Architect – Engineering, Construction & Operations
Location: United States.
Program: SAP S/4HANA / Digital EPC Transformation
Reporting to: Associate Vice President of SAP Practice
Objective:
Own the end-to-end SAP ECO / EPC solution architecture for EPC Major’s S/4HANA transformation across Supply Chain (material management and procurement) and Construction (planning and execution). The role must translate EPC Major’s project-centric EPC operating model into a clean-core, scalable S/4HANA BTP architecture, integrating engineering data, material readiness, procurement, AWP/CWP/IWP planning, field execution, progress capture, quality gates, and subcontractor interfaces.
This is not a narrow SAP PS/MM consultant role. The person must operate as the design authority for SAP-enabled EPC execution — able to challenge customizations, align process owners, define integration boundaries, and defend architecture decisions with EPC Major business and IT leadership.
Job Description:
- 15 years of SAP experience, including at least 5 years as Solution Architect on large S/4HANA transformation programs.
- Strong EPC / Engineering & Construction industry experience — preferably in oil & gas, chemicals, energy, infrastructure, capital projects, or large construction programs.
- Deep understanding of SAP project-centric delivery: SAP PS, network activities, WBS, project procurement, commitment management, cost object design, and project reporting.
- Strong SAP MM / Procurement expertise: PR/PO, sourcing/RFQ, supplier collaboration, purchasing org/group design, material master, reservations, stock handling, goods receipt, invoice verification, and project supply chain controls.
- Working knowledge of EWM or warehouse/material issue processes for project warehouses, laydown yards, staging areas, pick tickets, material allocation, and release-to-field processes.
- Strong grasp of construction planning and execution concepts: AWP, CWP, IWP, workface planning, RAS dates, material readiness, progress measurement, earned hours, rules of credit, ITP/QVD gates, and field execution constraints.
- Ability to design integration across SAP and EPC edge systems such as P6, Smart Construction, MC Plus, CoreWorks, Tracker/Mile Marker equivalents, Weld Console, engineering data platforms, and analytics layers.
- Clean-core mindset with practical knowledge of SAP BTP, Integration Suite/CPI, Fiori, APIs/events, and extension architecture.
- Strong data migration and cutover understanding for material masters, vendors/business partners, open POs, project structures, reservations, stock, work packages, and in-flight projects.
- Experience working in SAFe / Agile delivery model; comfortable running architecture in sprint mode while maintaining design governance.
- Executive communication skills; able to lead working sessions with client architects, process owners, PMO, construction leaders, supply chain leaders, and IT stakeholders.
Preferred Experience
- Prior SAP S/4HANA program experience for EPC, engineering, construction, infrastructure, chemicals, oil & gas, utilities, or capital-project-heavy industries.
- Experience with SAP Enterprise Portfolio and Project Management, Commercial Project Management, SAP S/4HANA for product/project procurement, EWM, TM, QM, and BTP-based extensions.
- Exposure to Advanced Work Packaging / Workface Planning platforms, Primavera P6, 4D/5D construction planning, field progress capture, and construction quality/completions tools.
- Experience replacing or integrating legacy custom tools in large-scale transformation programs.
- Familiarity with subcontractor portals, supplier collaboration portals, bid evaluation, contract/payment certificate processes, and progress-based invoicing.
- SAP certifications in S/4HANA, Enterprise Architecture, Project Systems, Procurement, EWM, or BTP preferred.
