Key Responsibilities
Activity Planning & Engagement
- Plan, organize, and lead activities such as:
- Arts & crafts
- Games and group activities
- Music, holiday, and themed events
- Encourage participation from all residents, including those with dementia or cognitive impairments
- Adapt activities to meet varying levels of ability and interest
- Build positive relationships with residents and families
- Provide encouragement, companionship, and emotional support
- Promote a warm, welcoming, and inclusive environment
- Collaborate with nursing and interdisciplinary team members
- Assist with individualized activity plans
- Support residents during activities and as needed throughout the day
- Maintain accurate records of activity participation
- Assist with special events, celebrations, and facility programs
- Help create a lively and engaging activity calendar
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Experience in activities, recreation, or healthcare preferred (not required)
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Compassionate, patient, and energetic personality
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs
- Ability to move throughout the facility and assist residents as needed
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings and weekends
