What Success Looks Like
- Maintain complete and accurate financial records by reconciling the general ledger, preparing journal entries, and ensuring transactions align with GAAP standards and internal controls.
- Deliver timely, high-quality reporting by assisting in month-end and year-end close processes, preparing detailed financial statements, and identifying variances or discrepancies that need attention.
- Support budgeting and forecasting efforts by compiling financial data, analyzing spending trends, and identifying areas for cost savings or revenue improvement.
- Monitor and improve cash flow performance by tracking receivables and payables, assisting with collections, and helping forecast cash needs for upcoming projects or expenditures.
- Oversee billing accuracy and collections to ensure customer invoices are correct, payments are applied promptly, and outstanding balances are followed up with professionalism and persistence.
- Partner with operations and leadership teams to connect financial data with project activity, helping translate on-the-ground work into accurate reporting and actionable insights.
- Assist in audit preparation and compliance activities by maintaining documentation, reconciling accounts, and supporting both internal and external audit requests.
- Identify opportunities to enhance accounting processes by leveraging technology, refining workflows, and recommending automation or efficiency improvements.
- Contribute to financial analysis and business decisions by preparing reports that highlight profitability, cost efficiency, and performance metrics aligned with company goals.
- Act as a steward of financial integrity by maintaining confidentiality, accuracy, and professionalism in every aspect of the work.
- Perform other responsibilities as assigned that support the mission and core values of LOVING, ensuring alignment with our culture of community, integrity, and impact.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a multi-entity or project-based environment.
- Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal control frameworks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, QuickBooks, and ERP systems such as SAP, Great Plains, or NetSuite.
- Demonstrated experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data and present it clearly.
- High attention to detail paired with the ability to see the bigger financial picture.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across departments.
- Organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
- Preferred: Experience in the construction, landscaping, or commercial homebuilding industries.
