What You’ll Be Doing
You will operate at the intersection of strategy and execution, acting as a trusted advisor to employers while also leading litigation efforts:
- Represent employers in employment litigation matters, including wrongful termination, discrimination, harassment, and retaliation claims
- Manage cases from inception through resolution, including pleadings, discovery, depositions, and trial preparation
- Counsel corporate clients on compliance with federal and state employment laws
- Draft and review employment-related documents such as policies, handbooks, and employment agreements
- Handle administrative proceedings before agencies such as the EEOC and Nebraska Equal Opportunity Commission
- Provide proactive, day-to-day legal guidance to clients on workplace issues, risk mitigation, and best practices
- Support internal employment-related matters within the firm as needed
- Partner closely with leadership to help build and scale the firm’s employment law practice
- Deliver high-quality legal work with strong attention to detail and deadlines
- Maintain direct client relationships and provide strategic, business-focused counsel
- Collaborate with partners and cross-functional teams across the firm
- Contribute to practice development, including thought leadership and potential client growth initiatives
- Demonstrate ownership of matters and the ability to work both independently and within a team
- J.D. from an accredited law school
- Licensed and in good standing (Nebraska or ability to waive in)
- 3–5 years of employment law experience (management-side preferred)
- Experience with both litigation and counseling work
- Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
