Woods Aitken LLP is seeking an experienced Employment & Labor Law Attorney to join our growing and highly respected practice group. This role is an opportunity to step into meaningful, hands-on client work alongside a collaborative team that values clarity, responsiveness, and practical legal solutions.

We are looking for an attorney with a strong foundation in employment and labor law, ideally representing employers, who is ready to contribute at a high level while continuing to grow within a supportive and team-oriented environment.

About The Role

You will work closely with a tight-knit employment and labor team that collaborates across all three of our offices and meets regularly to ensure consistency, quality, and strategic alignment in client service. This is not a siloed role, you will be part of a group that actively supports one another and shares knowledge.

Our clients span a wide range of industries, and we pride ourselves on delivering clear, actionable guidance that helps them make confident decisions in real time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Advise employers on a broad range of employment and labor law matters
  • Handle administrative agency matters (EEOC, NLRB, state agencies)
  • Draft and review employment policies, agreements, and handbooks
  • Support or lead litigation matters, depending on experience
  • Partner with clients on day-to-day counseling and risk mitigation
  • Collaborate with attorneys across offices and practice areas

Qualifications

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and licensed in Nebraska
  • 8 years of experience in employment and labor law (employer-side preferred)
  • Strong writing, analytical, and communication skills
  • Ability to provide clear, concise, and practical legal advice
  • Sound judgment and confidence in decision-making
  • A collaborative mindset and willingness to engage across teams
  • Professional demeanor, discretion, and strong commitment to client service
  • Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities
  • Tech-comfortable and willing to learn new systems and processes including integration of AI
  • Reliable, highly responsive, resourceful, and team-oriented
  • Flexible and adaptable; enjoys fast paced work
