What are the responsibilities and job description for the Electrical Maintenance Supervisor / Grade 18 position at Louisville Metropolitan Sewer District?
Enforces rules of conduct, health and safety rules and standard operating procedures for operations and maintenance functions. Plans and schedules all work related to control, instrumentation, electrical and mechanical maintenance. Develops, implements and supervises on-going electrical and mechanical preventative and predictive maintenance programs. Coordinates work efforts to ensure that required tools, equipment, materials and supplies are available as needed. Issues instructions and direction to staff. Oversees contract work being performed at MSD wastewater treatment plants and pump stations as needed. Plans and conducts special studies/analysis to evaluate instrumentation and control systems performance, as well as updates all appropriate documentation. Reviews plans and specifications for new construction and provides assistance to MSD Engineering and MSD Consultants.
Knowledge of control systems, programmable logic controllers, magnetic and ultrasonic flow meters, data recorders, monitors and fiber optics; knowledge of plumbing, welding, machining, electricity, metal fabrication, pipefitting, blueprint reading, electrical codes, pneumatics, alignment and calibration techniques; knowledge of best industry practices and standards; skill in operating a PC and associated Windows environment software (e.g. Microsoft Word and Excel); skill in managing multiple priorities; ability to learn wastewater treatment principles, practices, laws and regulations; ability to supervise a diverse workforce; ability to resolve problems; ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing; ability to perform physically demanding tasks as outlined above; ability to work under adverse working conditions such as inclement weather; ability to work effectively under heavy, unpredictable surges in workload; ability to work outdoors; ability to work 24 hour emergency response, various shifts and weekends.
Associate Degree in computer science, electronics, instrumentation or a related field; five or more years electrical/instrumentation experience or a related field; an equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted. Must possess a valid driver's license. Must have an acceptable and reliable means for being contacted during off-duty hours. Must have safe work and driving habits. Certified journeyman electrician preferred.This position is considered safety-sensitive and is subject to random drug testing.
Salary : $68,786 - $105,789
