As a Construction Project Manager, you will act as the primary point of contact between the client and the general contractor, representing client interests across the full lifecycle of a hyperscale data center construction project. You will ensure that all phases—ranging from early works and design coordination through construction execution and commissioning—are aligned with program objectives. This is a high-visibility role requiring strong leadership, stakeholder management, and technical oversight within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
As a Construction Project Manager, you will act as the primary point of contact between the client and the general contractor, representing client interests across the full lifecycle of a hyperscale data center construction project. You will ensure that all phases—ranging from early works and design coordination through construction execution and commissioning—are aligned with program objectives. This is a high-visibility role requiring strong leadership, stakeholder management, and technical oversight within a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the client’s on-site representative, facilitating alignment between general contractors, design teams, trade partners, and internal stakeholders.
- Oversee daily site operations to ensure adherence to safety, quality, schedule, and budget objectives.
- Monitor and report on project milestones, risks, and critical path items using data-driven project controls.
- Support and review early works and site prep activities, ensuring seamless transition into major construction phases.
- Lead and coordinate routine site walks, construction meetings, and design or scope alignment sessions.
- Participate in change management processes, including evaluating scope changes and budget impacts.
- Collaborate with commissioning agents and trade partners to support system readiness and turnover.
- Maintain thorough documentation, including RFIs, submittals, drawing reviews, punch lists, and progress reports.
- Drive accountability across contractors and consultants by enforcing performance expectations and timelines.
- Escalate risks and issues appropriately to senior leadership with proposed mitigation strategies.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
- 5 years of experience in large-scale construction projects, preferably within data centers or mission-critical facilities.
- Prior experience in an owner’s representative, construction management, or client-facing project leadership role.
- Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, competing priorities, and aggressive schedules.
- Strong working knowledge of construction methodologies, safety regulations, and QA/QC best practices.
- Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project, Primavera P6, or similar scheduling software.
- Familiarity with design and construction documentation (e.g., IFC drawings, spec books, change orders).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and lead cross-functional teams.
- PMP, CCM, or similar certification is a plus.
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field.
- Mission-critical experience required (Data Centre experience strongly preferred).
